ADVANCED COSMETIC PROCEDURES USING ELECTROLYSIS

ACP treatments are becoming increasingly popular as knowledge about these fantastic treatments increases.

A wide diversity of skin blemishes can be quickly and easily treated with immediate and effective results offering an eventual blemish free smooth skin.

Allow your electrolysis specialist to care and support you in practical sense by removing any unsightly blemishes that may have affected your confidence and well-being recently or throughout your life.

As far back as 1900’s electrolysis was being used for the treatment of port-wine stains, broken/dilated capillaries, spider naevi, warts or even xanthoma (yellow pigmented spots or plates found on the eyelids).

Today it has progressed a long way and with ongoing improvements and ongoing technology it is a safe, comfortable and effective treatment still very much in demand today.

Probably the least invasive, minimal and effective method of treatment for such wide variety of blemishes electrolysis has got to be the most sensible and safe choice. Results are often instantaneous, pleasing and life changing.

Skin Tag Removal

Skin Tags are very common and most frequently found on the neck and face. They often appear with a neck like a mushroom and vary in size from a tiny speck, smaller than a grain of uncooked rice, to the size of a large pea or even larger. They are often found in areas of friction such as the underarm, groin, under the breasts or around the neck where necklaces may irritate.

It is a straight forward procedure where we cauterise the skin tags using heat. The results are instant.  Small crusts will  appear on the area treated after a day or two and will fall off naturally. It is important not to remove these crusts as they form as part of the skin’s natural healing process.

The treatment takes  15 minutes which is generally a sufficient amount of time to remove all of your skin tags on the day.

The price €45 euro per 15 min treatment.

Millia removal

These are tiny, white, hard lumps containing keratin which lie superficially under the surface of the skin and can be easily treated with ACP techniques. Their exact cause is unknown although they are often associated with dry, dehydrated skin.

We use a small probe/sharp instrument to pierce the skin and remove the millia. Small crusts will form following your treatment and will fall off naturally without leaving any marks. These crusts form as part of your skin’s natural healing process.

Your therapist on the day will advise you on your aftercare for the days following your treatment.

The treatment takes 15 minutes which is generally a sufficient amount of time to remove all of your millia on the day.

The price €25 euro per 15 min treatment.

Seborrheic Keratosis

Even though these are classifies as part of the wart family, they are not contagious and very common on the head, face and body. Associated with increasing age, mature skins, sun damage, they often have genetic links. Growing up to 2 inches across they are often dry, crusty and considered cosmetically unattractive.

Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra

This a common popular disorder which develops in adolescence on black skin and is identified by smooth, dome shaped, brown to black papules seen mainly on the cheeks, neck and upper chest.

Blood Spots Removal

Bright red, superficial vascular blemishes these are often dome shaped or slightly raised. Most people aged over 30 have at least one and they are more common in men than women.

Spider Naevus Removal

Central dilated blood vessel, with smaller capillaries radiating from it like legs of a spider. They can be found in isolation or gathered together in clumps on areas such as the cheeks.

Thread Veins Removal

These are permanently dilated capillaries. They have very thin walls which constantly dilate and constrict. As we age, these vessels loose their elasticity and can become permanently dilated. There are numerous causes including: aging, sun damage, hereditary, prgnancy, trauma e.g rubbing of spectacles and smoking. Energetic sports, temperature extremes, harsh weather exposure, hormones and skin fragility are also common causes.

Your questions answered:

What actually happens in advanced cosmetic procedures?

The tip of the finest, smallest probe possible (about the size of an eyelash) is introduced along the line of the capillary and a tiny energy current is discharged. This ‘dries up’ and destroys the vessel which often disappears as it is being treated. Further treatments may be necessary depending on the severity of the problem. In the case of skin tags the current destroys the vessels ‘feeding ‘the blemish ‘starving’ it of nourishment resulting in its eventual demise.

Will my blemishes return?

The treated blemish will not return but others may occur depending on the root cause. Your skin specialist will advise you during consultation.

How long does it take and how many treatments will I require?

ACP treatments are safe and effective and offer instant results in many cases. Length of treatment very much depends on the problem and your skin specialist will advise you of this although it is difficult to state a definitive time, The area worked on must not be over-treated and your skin reactivity will be taken into account, Spacing technique and treatment intervals will be carefully considered in a treatment plan by the professional as well as taking into account your requirements, needs and wishes.

Mixing different methods?

The method chosen is a decision the skin specialist will make and will be determined by the blemish(es), condition of the skin, client compatibility and equipment.
How much does it cost?
You will pay for the treatable lesions. Treatment time will depend how big the lesion is and can take a minimum of l5 minutes. The price varies depending on the specific blemish, area. The skin specialist will be pleased to offer you a consultation and price estimate.

Do I need to prepare myself for a treatment?

No, you don’t. You need to be aware that 24-48hr before your treatment you should avoid:
Anything which involves heat (e.g. sauna, steam bath, hot baths or showers)
Sun explosion (e.g. sun tanning, sun beds, and application of fake tan on treatment areas)
Any activities which will make your skin more sensitive, like swimming pool, gym, applying makeup, soap or perfumes, wearing tight clothes.
